Former Chicago Bulls player Michael Jordan is cited by all the stars and reaffirms his title as the ‘GOAT’ of basketball

LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Luka Doncic, major stars of the current NBA, have chosen the best players in the history of the American league.

The Golden State Warriors’ point guard, wearing jersey number 30, put together a dream starting five in an interview with Sports Illustrated. He included himself and left out big names like LeBron and Tim Duncan.

“Since I’m the point guard, I’ll choose Magic [Johnson] to create a hybrid backcourt. You have [Michael] Jordan, Dirk [Nowitzki] spacing the floor, and the big guy, Shaquille O’Neal, in the paint. I think I’ve got a solid starting five here,” he said.

Curry’s teammate on the Warriors, Draymond Green, also defined his all-time ideal starting five: Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Meanwhile, Doncic, the young star of the Dallas Mavericks, didn’t give much of an explanation and simply stated his opinion on the ‘GOAT’: “Michael Jordan. It’s MJ,” said the Slovenian.

LeBron James mentions four names

‘The King’ also mentioned the former player, who was a six-time champion with the Chicago Bulls in the ’90s. The Los Angeles Lakers star, in an old interview with Fox Sports, cited three others: Julius Erving, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson.

The highest scorer in history and four-time NBA champion, the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat forward is in the ‘GOAT’ discussion, and many place him above Jordan.

Michael Jordan talks about comparisons

MJ did not stir controversy on the subject in a statement to journalist Marvin R. Shanken. The legend made a projection about the future:

“I don’t talk about it. If someone asks me, I don’t give my opinion on it. As an athlete, you want to be the best you can be. But I know that in 20 years, maybe LeBron will have surpassed me, based on who is watching now, based on who will vote,” he opined.
